Yesterday’s books, manuals and guidance do not work today; they become outdated at that moment they come out from the printing press. Every morning we wake up in a new world. Therefore, to succeed people and organizations have to be on the edge of a knife. In other words, they must deal with innovations.
What we consider now as a reliable and proven method, it has been an innovation in the past. We can compare the whole process with an icebreaker, which clears the path for those who follows and for all humankind in general.
Henry Ford succeeded in the car production industry thanks to the invention of the conveyor. The idea of Steve Jobs that the computer should be accessible to any ordinary person eventually transformed the whole computer market. The European Union has established special institutions responsible for the innovative policies implementation. The industry of innovations occupies one of the main places in the economic sciences.
For any firm the innovation implementation means costs and human resources reduction, an advantage over competitors and greater profits. However, the introduction of innovation involves risk, especially for new companies. Therefore, many startups crash in the very first year of their existence.
The reverse side of the innovativeness is the lack of understanding among many possible partners. Some companies, that have been on the market for a long time and are considered as leaders in their field, avoid dealing with innovations and with innovative partners. They do not have enough personnel and physical resources for high-tech or paradoxical solutions.
In total innovativeness means huge advantages for many firms, but their success depends on the competent and timely implementation of innovations, as well as on their ability to work with firms and people who are not innovation oriented.
